Lowanna College Instrumental Music Program

In addition to the classroom music program at Lowanna College, tuition is available for many musical instruments for an administrative fee of $50.00 per semester, per instrument. Once a student has been accepted into the program, payment must be made.

Weekly Lessons

Students will be withdrawn from class for instrumental lessons. The time of the lesson will change to ensure that the students do not miss the same class each week. Students return to class after their lesson and are expected to catch up on the class work missed. It is a requirement that musical students participate in at least one school- based ensemble and perform at school concerts/productions with the arrangements of their instrumental teacher.

Obtaining an Instrument

Lowanna College has a range of musical instruments at the school; however, these are not available for hire as they are used in lessons and ensembles. It is most beneficial for the development of a student’s skill to have their own instrument; it engenders a feeling of pride and worth in their studies.   We recommend that parents/guardians contact the music staff at the College before purchasing an instrument, particularly second hand or online, as poor-quality instruments can hinder a student’s progress.

Staff

All staff in the Music Department are highly trained and experienced musicians and educators with the skill set required to guide your child’s musical development. To apply for an instrumental music lesson please complete the below form. Pending availability, parents/guardians will be notified if students have been accepted into the program.
