The program is designed to increase student opportunities to pursue a career in sports and/or continue on to further education and training. The College has outstanding sporting facilities with a rich history of excellence in sports. We aspire to engage our students and teach them skills for life.
The Lowanna College Sports Academy targets the following sports: AFL Boys, AFL Girls, Basketball, Soccer, Netball, and individual sports. These sporting programs are aimed at maintaining student interest and engagement in school and providing them with skills to pursue careers in the sports and recreation industry.
Expert teachers/coaches demonstrate a great passion for their discipline and engage in regular professional development. Our teachers/coaches are all actively involved in coaching in our community and development pathways for their respective sports. Students benefit from the extensive experience of the coaching staff in elite and professional sports.
As part of the Lowanna Sports Academy, students are expected to maintain a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 or above (based on learning behaviours) and high academic results.
